Arumi Izaazwazini, a Bruneian girl studying in east China Nanjing city, visited the Chudonggua village in in west Yunnan’s Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, where she learned to pick tea leaves and tasted the De’ang sour tea. Unlike waterborne villages in Brunei, this mountain village featured curling smoke from kitchen chimneys and the fragrance of tea across the slopes. It is brimming with the vibrant joy of spring.
