The 2026 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Dali Marathon was held in west Yunnan’s Dali Bai autonomous prefecture on May 17.

Some 12,000 runners from 20 countries and regions gathered at the foot of the Cangshan Mountains and the shores of Erhai Lake, embarking on a running course along the most beautiful plateau.

The marathon is not only a platform for athletic competition but also a bridge fostering people-to-people connectivity among the six Lancang-Mekong countries.
Through this event, Dali showcased to the world the unique charm as a national scenic area and a natural/cultural heritage site — "the Cangshan Natural Heritage and Nanzhao Cultural Relics."
